A nice scenic farmland walk with miles of canal path to compliment
The Tyrley Locks dog walk is one that is mainly used by the locals as a make do walk when they haven’t got much time. Its path travels over farmland and through woodland and is very picturesque especially in the winter time.
There are parking spaces along the lane down to the locks but these are few since the farmer blew a gasket when he saw how many new dog owners were frequenting his land. If you’re looking for a long walk then you will need to combine the farmland walk with the canal path. This goes on for miles and can be quite remote in places. There will be just you, the scenery and the odd passing barge.
If you take the Newport road out of Market Drayton then just turn left at the Four Alls Pub. You will see parking within a couple of hundred yards down the lane. Google Map Directions
